The Allied “VC” is an efficient, engineered packaged condensation return unit designed for long trouble free operation in gravity heating systems for industrial institutional and residential applications. It is completely assembled to make for an economical package in either single or duplex arrangements.

Equipment Features

Pump: A bronze fitted pump with close grained cast iron casing, leakless mechanical shaft seal, and stainless steel large diameter corrosion resistant shaft. Pump has low NPSH requirement to permit handling of 200 F condensate and is designed to be non overloading for the rated horsepower. The entire rotating assembly can be removed without disturbing the discharge or return piping.

Motor: Drip-proof motors of well known motor manufacturer standard NEMA construction are normally furnished. However, totally enclosed and explosion proof motors are available. Motor bearings are sealed and factory greased for extra long trouble-free operation. Single phase fractional H.P. motors include built-in thermal overload protection.

Shaft: The pump shaft is made of a high grade stainless steel, ground and polished, and is of a large diameter designed for high torque.

Control: Automatic operation is provided by an integral mounted enclosed adjustable float switch assembly, factory wired, one for each electric motor and pump assembly. Magnetic line voltage starters are provided with all three phase motors or single phase motors in integral horsepower frame sizes.

Variations: Mechanical alternating float switch assembly may be furnished in lieu of standard float switches for duplex units which will alternate the operation of the two pumps and permit simultaneous operation of both pumps during peak load periods.

“VC” units can be used as boiler feed units by increasing the storage tank size and replacing the float switch assembly with a cold water make up valve assembly.
